Unathi specializes in employment law. She has assisted the practice with drafting and reviewing employment contracts, legal research and drafting legal opinions and matters relating to dismissals, strikes and public procurement. She has experience with appearances in the CCMA and conducting disciplinary hearings

Michael concentrates on all aspects of industrial relations and employment law litigation. He spent a year practicing employment law with a prominent London-based international law firm, where he was involved in the employment aspects of a number of multi-jurisdictional transactions and claims to the Employment Tribunal. At Shepstone & Wylie, he concentrates on employment law issues that arise from the sale and purchase of companies, the restructuring of companies, dismissals, sex and race discrimination claims and restraints of trade including advising on all aspects of collective bargaining and strike action. Michael also represents parties in the Labour Court, CCMA, bargaining councils and has been an Acting Judge in the Labour Court.

Verlie specialises in all aspects of employment law, as well as social media law (which team she heads up) and Protection of Personal Information (POPIA) compliance. She specialises in: disciplinary hearings, employment equity, bargaining and collective rights, conciliations and arbitrations in the CCMA, Labour Court proceedings, training executives and business owners on the implications of their employees being active on social media, devising social media policies and procedures for employers, advice on and implementation of successful social media strategies, social media advice and training in schools, universities and for the general public, and social media litigation. Verlie develops bespoke planning strategies for companies relating to their data protection requirements and POPIA compliance and provides training to multinational companies regarding this new legislation.
